Village Veterans

Leadership. Accountability. Integrity. Team. As an armed forces veteran you live those values every day. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow with a stable, dynamic, award-winning company that shares your values and commitment, then you’ve come to the right place.

Begin a New Mission To Serve

At DaVita, we are a Community First and a Company Second and find that military veterans and families share in that concept, embracing teammates (employees) and our patients as a Village.

At DaVita, we are a Community First and a Company Second and find that military veterans and families share in that concept, embracing teammates (employees) and our patients as a Village.

Since January 2013, DaVita has hired over 1,200 veterans that self-identified, offering transitional support for teammates with military backgrounds. Of these hires, over 100 filled leadership roles in the Village. DaVita was recently honored with the 2016 Military Friendly Employer designation and was ranked 34 out of the top 100 veteran employers and #1 in Healthcare for our first 2016 award.  In 2015, DaVita received the Civilianjobs.com Most Valuable Employer (Military) award, the Military Times “Best for Vets” designation, and the ERE Recruiting Excellence: Best Military Talent Program. On September 26 2013, DaVita was honored to receive the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.  This life time achievement honors DaVita’s commitment to supporting National Guard and Reserve employees.  Nearly 3,000 employers were nominated for a Freedom Award this year. An awards committee composed of senior Department of Defense officials, business leaders and prior honorees selected just 15 companies to receive a 2013 award. DaVita is one of only two Colorado employers to receive the Freedom Award this year.  “We are privileged to have more than 1,700 reservists, members of the Guard, military veterans and military spouses as part of the DaVita community,” said Kent Thiry, chairman and CEO of DaVita. “They make our company and our country stronger and better. It’s an honor to support them in every way we can.”

In 2012, DaVita launched Operation Homefront providing additional resources and special benefits for active duty military teammates (before, during and after deployment). One example of our benefit offerings (which exceed USERRA laws) is pay differential of up to 100% salary for mobilized service members, for up to five years. Also, if a teammate is deployed greater than thirty days, our DaVita Village Network will provide up to $5,000 per annum to ease expenses on the homefront for the family.

Beyond benefits, our culture illustrates how much we care. We’ve held Veterans Day celebrations across the country, including an event at our World Headquarters.

But, don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what a few of our military teammates had to say;

"I never thought I would find the same levels of leadership integrity and esprit de corps once I left the Army. I was wrong. I have found all of the above and more working with DaVita. An organization fully committed to a culture that supports the success of the patients, teammates and community, DaVita is equally committed to your personal development as a leader. I can honestly say I am as proud to work for DaVita as I was to wear my uniform."
Katie Ingram, MS, RN, CNL, US Army and Army Reserves, Regional Operations Director at DaVita 2012

“As a West Point Grad, I loved the higher purpose I felt when serving my country as a Captain in the U.S. Army. Now I have found my home at DaVita. I lead 350 empowered teammates across 15 clinics that give life every day! With a strong culture of values — DaVita is a great place for committed and caring leaders to succeed.”
Clay Rempe, US Army Veteran, Regional Operations Director at DaVita 2012
