Call to Duty
December 6, 2013 | A Day in the Life of a Dialysis Healthcare Administrator
Wow! What a couple of weeks it has been. Today is one of those days that I am just proud to be part of DaVita. I moved to Phoenix to have more exposure to different opportunities. Today the call came for me to run an additional clinic in the Phoenix area. At first I was ecstatic to be part of something new and the fact my ROD (regional operations director) asked me to step to plate having only been in his region for a couple of months was flattering. An FA that was running this clinic is no longer going to be with the Village so someone had to jump in and pick up wherever they had left off.
At that point I dug in and began to assess the staffing needs, as this would be my biggest challenge at first. They have been running short and the techs had been working really long hours and getting burnt out. So I made some calls and found some experienced technicians that wanted to transfer to this clinic. I was elated that the staffing was going to be up to par in just one month’s time from me taking the clinic over.
Stay tuned more to come…
