Word of Encouragement
August 27, 2012 | A Day in the Life of a Dialysis Healthcare Administrator
Our patients are faced with unique challenges and often times have fears related to their treatment and health status, it’s Important to us as a healthcare team to identify when they might need a little help. Our social worker and teammates work hard to develop and sustain lasting relationships with our patients. Our patients support each other and offer encouragement to their “friends” in the center. We truly are a family here.
We wanted to come up with a unique and special way to provide encouragement and our social worker developed a plan to allow us to do that. She has created a "Word of Encouragement" board in our lobby where people can hang notes of encouragement and support. Whenever a patient or teammates is having a rough day, they can take down a message from the board and receive a note of encouragement written by other teammates and patients.
This is something new that we are trying, something that we are all excited about. It’s amazing how far a few kind words can take you! I challenge you today, to offer praises and words of encouragement to someone near you. You can make a difference in the world around you!
