GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Corporate Network Manager, the Network Architect
will be the technical lead in their area and will act as a point of reference
for the team on technical issues. They will ensure effective operation,
maintenance and development of the network. They will be required to
participate in the on-call rotation with other engineers to support the
business. This role will help drive and often assist in the planning,
forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for
network systems (including Data Center LAN/WAN/Security/Wireless and VoIP) of
high complexity. In conjunction with network Architect they will focus on
network architecture design and engineering.
These duties include but are not limited

including a cooperative work effort with business units and external
escalation point for Network Engineers/Analysts for Corporate Data Systems
and service provider issues.
- Integrates and schematically depicts communication
architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling
links and protocols into complete network configurations.
- Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution
and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards
and interface applications.
- Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and
makes recommendations for improvement.

Education, Formal Training,
B.S. in Computer Science preferred, or equivalent work experience.
CCNA and CCNP preferred.

DMVP, IP VPN services
