Work autonomously in an intense hospital environment - without the typical hospital routine. Provide the highest level of care servicing Hospital's located in the Greater Kansas City, MO and parts of KS  area and ensure your patients' safety, comfort, and well-being.  As a nurse at DaVita Hospital Services you are on your toes working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with new challenges to troubleshoot and overcome daily. Your sense of purpose and accomplishment at the end of each day is powerful.
  • Learn to administer acute hemodialysis in 12 weeks (no dialysis experience) with a class of new teammates at a training center & local hospitals
  • Training will include a combination of classroom and hands-on learning through DaVita’s award-winning training programs
  • Two-week initial onboarding & fundamentals course dialysis with fellow nurses/PCTs before beginning preceptor training in the hospital environment
  • Paid during training period & all training materials provided

Independence - Manage your patients on your own in a hospital setting.
As a nurse in the hospital setting you will have the opportunity to work independently providing 1:1 patient care, as well as work on a team in our dialysis suites. Each day you assess, troubleshoot, and make sound decisions for critical patients. What an exciting challenge to take on.
Intensity - Expect the unexpected.
No two days are the same for an acute dialysis nurse. The setting is dynamic and each patient's needs are unique. When you walk in the door each day you don't know what patients you might have - their condition, when you will get them or when you will be done for the day.

The Acute Registered Nurse shining star in this role should have:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN license) in MO to start and will have to obtain a KS license ***
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Medical/surgical, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), and Emergency Room (ER) and/or hospital nursing experience ( highly preferred)
  • Dialysis nursing experience (strongly preferred) not required
  • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) (preferred) not required
  • Experience assessing, trouble shooting and making sound recommendations in stressful situations
  • Flexibility like a gymnast - okay, not literally.  What we mean is someone who thrives in an environment that is constantly changing and will face new challenges head-on 
  • Excellent communication skills to listen and communicate with acutely ill patients and teammate
  • Flexibility is must ; will support multiple hospitals ; schedule will require "on call" rotations and OT as required  
  • Accommodate start date of Sept 6th
  • Travel to Kansas City Sep 6-9 (4 days) and Sep 12-15 (4 days)
  • Travel to Kansas City or similar location for approximately 3 days in October or early November
  • Multi-tasking skills, with great time management and prioritizing capabilities
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required
