Position Description

The L&C Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the Licensure and Certification process, as well as project coordination for all projects in assigned states.  This role accomplishes this by supervising a team of 4-6 L&C Specialists and Sr.Specialists, to include PeopleNet corrections, one on one meetings, PDR with Director or Manager, and oversight of day to day work activities.  This position, in collaboration with management, assigns project workload to members of the team and is responsible for oversight of all work performed, in conjunction with those projects.  The L&C Supervisor must routinely exercise judgment in delegating responsibilities to other Teammates and insuring that all projects are properly covered.  This position serves as the primary liaison for operations and state agencies in the assigned states and for projects in those states.  The L&C Supervisor serves as high level expert in all regulatory matters related to End-Stage Renal Dialysis (“ESRD”) licensure and certification.  This position reports to the L&C Manager.

  • Manage/coordinate all projects that occur within assigned states.
  • Delegate and supervise daily work activities of assigned Teammates.
  • Provide input to manager regarding Teammate performance.
  • Serve as high level expert in all regulatory matters related to ESRD licensure and certification.

Supervise 4-6 teammates:

  • Complete PDR’s in work day and participate in PDR discussions.
  • One on one meetings.
  • Complete PeopleNet updates as needed.
  • Initiating FTE’s as needed through workday.

Monitor project Roadmap Calls:

  • Ensure that all Teammates adhere to project Roadmap timelines.
  • Serve as resource to all Teammates involved in the DeNovo, Relocation, and Change of Ownership (“CHOW”) process regarding requirements and timelines.

Oversee Teammates performance as follows:

  • Communication, correspondence and follow-up with for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”), Fiscal Intermediaries, State Agencies, Medicaid, Tri-Care, State Kidney Program and other regulatory agencies.
  • Research, complete, and submit all regulatory applications required for participation in Medicare, Medicaid, Tri-Care, state kidney programs, and State and Local licenses.
  • Ensure that all assigned facilities’ licensure/certification documents are current and complete.
  • Updating of database with facility information.
  • Knowledgeable of Chronos to provide internal reporting. 
  • Entry of all updates into appropriate tracking systems and databases in a timely manner.
  • Response to requests for assistance from facilities.

Develop and maintain relationships with CMS, Federal, State and Local agencies, Tri-Care, and state kidney programs to stay current with and to anticipate regulatory, licensure, and certification changes and new legal requirements for End Stage Renal Disease programs:

  • Maintain current knowledge of rules, regulations, and applications
  • Serve as a company resource for interpretation of Federal, State and Local agencies, Tri-Care, and state kidney program regulations governing End Stage Renal Disease Programs in consultation with management.
  • Complete special projects and manage projects as assigned. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned, including, but not limited to:
  • Work overtime with little or no notice, as needed.
  • Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training, as needed.
  • Participate in company meetings and conference calls, as required.
  • Assist with coverage during staffing shortages and leaves of absence.
  • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures.
  • Consistent, regular, punctual attendance, as scheduled, is an essential responsibility of this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred - progressively responsible work experience in related area may be substituted in lieu of degree on a year-for-year basis
  • Experience in the following areas is considered relevant and preferred
    • Project management/coordination
    • Paralegal
    • Healthcare Regulatory Field
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access (or other web-based database programs) required; basic knowledge of PowerPoint required
