Position Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
 
This position is responsible for Clinical Services initiatives and educational and quality control activities including training, policy and procedures and project coordination. Position prepares, develops, and conducts educational programs for Village Health Nurses and preceptors. Position monitors and evaluates teammate competencies.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborates with the Director of Education to determine the skill sets required for Village Health Nurses
  • Identifies, develops and conducts classroom or long-distance educational programs for new and existing VillageHealth teammates
  • Develops and delivers “world class” training via instructor led, e-learning and other creative and efficient solutions
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results; modify programs as needed
  • Integrates the parent company’s core values and methods of teaching, culture building and engagement into the learning model
  • Continuously improves processes and content using feedback and monitoring mechanisms
  • Automates education courses via eLearning and WebEx technology as appropriate
  • Supports clinical education department and teammates with computer applications; work with IT to ensure clinical applications are updated as necessary
  • Other duties as required
  • Travel Required: up to 75%

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Current RN license in state of practice required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ nursing precepting experience required
  • Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) or Case Management preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in nephrology nursing required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managed care environment and renal healthcare delivery systems
  • Minimum of 3 years curriculum development experience preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in effectively teaching adult learners with different learning styles
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in VillageHealth Information Systems Programs
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; basic proficiency in MS Excel preferred
