Senior Manager of Business Analysis and Projects (IT)

Position Description

This position works with business partners to determine, develop and align technology solutions with business strategies to meet business needs and budget. This position also manages IT projects and initiatives including design, development, and implementation of the projects. This position ensures that technology projects meet standard approaches for IT deployments and project management.

Participate in business process design and requirements gathering as needed for new technology

o    Analyze business partner operations to understand and determine opportunities to automate processes and functions

o    Translate high-level business requirements into functional specifications supporting both new technology adoption and enhancements to existing technologies

o    Identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the organization


Develop strategies for projects; Interface effectively with business stakeholders, managing engagement

o    Create strategies for contingency planning

o    Define resources, requirements, and implementation; plan project life cycle deployment; adjust project scope, timing, and budgets as needed

o    Ensure project and technical documentation for projects is maintained

o    Track key project milestones; recommend schedule adjustments to Project Managers

o    Identify and resolve project issues


Teammate Management

o    Provide leadership to direct reports and department. Help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered during projects

o    Manage all teammate employment activity such as hiring, promoting, job performance, evaluations, and disciplinary actions with appropriate approvals as required

o    Address teammate relations issues appropriately and escalate as necessary

o    Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to teammates all DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company; develop and foster a positive, fulfilling work environment; enable teammates to excel in their assigned roles

o    Facilitate teammate development and professional growth

o    Provide work direction for department teammates including goals and goal achievement measurements

o    Determine staffing plans that promote the most effective use of all teammates; ensure coverage during teammate absences

o    Develop and conduct educational programs to keep teammates up-to-date on DaVita policies, new laws and regulations impacting work, and other information necessary to maintain teammates’ knowledge of department processes and goals

Minimum of five (5) years’ IT project management experience required

o    Demonstrated experience integrating and aligning strategy across functions, processes, and teams required

o    Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies and tools required

o    Expert-level computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required

o    Healthcare industry experience Preferred

o    Experience running Program Management Office for large organizations strongly preferred

o    Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively

o    Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups

o    Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at all levels of the company

o    Approachable and open

o    Demonstrated ability to communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully

o    Demonstrated commitment to customer service; proactively communicate and respond promptly to teammate or stakeholder needs

o    Exceptional client relationship management and ability to influence others

o    Demonstrated ability to work in a team, facilitate effective team interactions, and to foster a positive work environment; willingness to assist teammates in order to achieve departmental goals

o    Demonstrated strengths in teambuilding and leadership skills

o    Demonstrated strengths in organizational, attention-to-detail, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving skills

o    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities appropriately in an evolving work environment with shifting time frames; self-starter with high degree of initiative, urgency, and follow through

o    Demonstrated ability to balance department efficiency and field service excellence

o    Ability to maximize resources to accomplish key metrics

o    Demonstrated ability to work effectively at both detail and big-picture levels and to drive projects forward

o    Demonstrated ability to create, refine, and manage new business processes

o    Innovative, analytical thinker with demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, prepare and implement action plans, and lead improvement initiatives

o    Demonstrated ability to understand and apply key financial, clinical, and operational drivers affecting business
