The Opportunity:
The Med Protect team at DaVita Rx reviews patients’ profiles to identify high risk medications that could potentially lead to negative health outcomes, then notifies patients’ prescribers regarding these medications in order to provide safer, more effective therapies. Med Protect pharmacy technicians are primarily responsible for contacting patients, physicians, and dialysis facilities regarding pharmacist medication interventions.
               
Accountabilities and Deliverables:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
 
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to requests/issues
  • Initiate outbound calls to patients to obtain information on certain prescriptions and/or prescribers
  • Initiate outbound calls/faxes to physicians’ offices and dialysis facilities regarding pharmacist interventions on patients’ medications
  • Receive inbound calls from patients, physicians’ offices, and dialysis facilities regarding previous Med Protect contacts
  • Document all contacts appropriately and work with the Med Protect pharmacist to ensure success of interventions
  • Serve as a liaison between Med Protect and other departments in DaVita Rx as needed
  • Attend team meetings and trainings as needed
  • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department/company procedures
  • Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential part of this position

Qualifications

  • Requirements for Education and Experience:
     
    • Certified Pharmacy Technician required
    • Good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
    • Ability to work overtime as necessary required
    • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Knowledge of common contact center procedures and support workflow
    • Experience in healthcare or pharmacy industry preferred
    • Intermediate to advance computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
    • Knowledge and experience  working in RX Connect
