DaVita is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join the Financial Reporting team at the Federal Way business office!

This position performs complex accounting analyses for corporate transactions, coordinates the integration of new businesses into DaVita’s accounting systems, and performs complex analysis on asset impairment. This position participates in accounting analyses for settlement of divested businesses and assists with the preparation of internal and external financial reporting.
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
  • Perform purchase and sale accounting for businesses acquired and sold, including review and interpretation of legal acquisition documents and schedules for both book and tax purposes
  • Coordinate the integration of acquired businesses into DaVita’s accounting systems and processes for both book and tax purposes
  • Complete company-wide quarterly financial reporting and asset impairment reviews
  • Coordinate with acquisition and divested counterparties regarding settlement of post-transaction amounts
  • Reconcile key general ledger accounts related to acquisitions, impairments, and other corporate-level transactions
  • Assist finance, general accounting, accounts payable, tax, payroll, and other teams regarding previous corporate transactions
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual report on Form 10-K and quarterly reports on Form 10-Q
  • Assist with the quarterly calculations of the Company debt compliance covenants
  • Maintain Corporate Transactions metrics and tracking schedules
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses, investigative research, and GAAP research as necessary  
  • Assist with process walkthroughs and testing of internal controls over financial reporting for the purpose of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
  • Review, assess, and effectively communicate SOX related testing results 
  • Act as resource for the documentation of new accounting and/or financial reporting processes
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to: (1) Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed; (2) Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in public accounting or 3-4 years at a publicly traded company with applicable experience
  • Demonstrated experience with stock-based compensation accounting, multi-location accounting, consolidating financial statements including eliminations and a general understanding of GAAP strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Expert level computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel required; intermediate proficiency with MS Word and Outlook required; intermediate proficiency in Oracle, Hyperion, Essbase or other database accounting systems preferred; experience with Transcentive Express Options preferred 
  • Team player with strong communication skills, both verbal and written
