Position Description


DaVita Rx has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager to provide leadership for a team of 8+ sales reps that cover various territories in the U.S.  The manager is accountable for delivering enrolled patients in the DaVita Rx pharmacy service and will develop territory sales plans and build successful relationships and partnerships with patients with kidney disease and the clinicians (doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers) who care for them. 


The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for developing a productive sales team and the growth of sales in the respective region.  A key area of focus for the Sales Manager role will be training, coaching and driving accountability for team’s performance and developing proficiencies in sales teammates to deliver quality customer service and expand enrollment. The RSM also has responsibilities in Talent Management that includes leading team engagement, development of team competencies, identification of high potentials and succession planning, ensuring development opportunities for team members, retention of talent, and participating in hiring initiatives. 


The Sales Manager will be required to use data analysis and feedback from field assessments and will create long and short-term territory sales strategies.   


Key Deliverables of the Position:

  • Lead, coach and develop successful sales team to enroll patients in the DaVita Rx pharmacy service in the assigned territory

  • Analyze data and metrics to translate into forecasts for the development and implementation of regional sales plans and objectives

  • Create and implement sales tools to measure performance and success of key sales priorities

  • Manage the full cycle of the sales process to meet the needs of existing and new customers 

  • Develop relationships with partners and customers that result in increased enrollment for DaVita Rx

  • Travel required: 75%+ 


The possible base of operations for these Regional Sales Manager are regions in these areas: Denver, CO, St Louis, MO, OKC, OK, Austin, TX, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, Chicago, Detroit, Columbus, Philadelphia, NYC, Boston, Jersey, and Pittsburgh, PA.  Must live close to a major airport.

A Successful Regional Sales Manager candidate will have the following experience skills and experience and education:

  • Minimum three years’ experience proven leadership in developing, mentoring and coaching remote sales teammates (sales teams of at least 8 plus sales representatives) to deliver quality service, expand enrolled base and retain customers. 

  • Demonstrated ability to create, refine and implement sales processes

  • Demonstrated ability to manage high priority projects incorporating analysis and trends from financial, operational, and clinical information to identify sales performance improvement opportunities and implement solutions

  • Ability to assess and build relationships with teammates, vendors, external dialysis partners, and physicians in complex, matrixed environments

  • Ability to develop and deliver compelling, persuasive sales presentations to influence and inform audiences at all levels

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that convey information clearly and effectively

  • Ability to convey significant information to leadership about specific customer feedback and trends to inform organizational planning and strategy development

  • Can easily adapt and is responsive to changes when working with multiple priorities and objectives

  • Participates in Talent Management activities that include creating thoughtful teammate development plans, identifying talent, developing skills and competencies in team, succession planning, and development of future sales leaders.

  • Experience creating territory strategy and implementing sales performance improvement

  • Extensive demonstrated experience in developing and analyzing sales metrics and performance objectives

  • Experience in a start-up or high growth environment is a big plus

  • Experience in contact center based sales environment, experience linking inside and outside sales is a big plus

  • Healthcare experience preferred

  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook required

  • Bachelor's degree plus significant progressively responsible work experience required. Master’s degree is a plus. 

  • Valid driver’s license in state of employment; driving record must meet insurance liability.
