Position Description


This position is a critical leadership role at Paladina Health and will drive the development of new business strategy, opportunities and growth for Paladina Health. This will be achieved by developing and deepening strategic relationships with existing and potential customers/partners in our new and emerging accounts, in addition to identifying new customers and markets. The VP Corporate Development is ultimately accountable for the sales strategy and growth of the business and will collaborate with the business development, market leadership, finance, operations and clinical teams to implement development initiatives. This position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing results of past efforts and developing new initiatives and targets.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" />

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and develop both potential and existing strategic growth initiatives, recommending channels, partners and customers for Paladina to pursue
  • Develop and formulate strategic plans for new business that include evaluating the current market environment, understanding competition, how buyers buy and then formulating a story to take to perspective clients where Paladina Health has no or minimal presence
  • Develop relationships with large or medium size payers and medical groups that are minimally affiliated with Paladina Health which will enable them to expand into new market
  • Actively participate in 2 to 3 year planning sessions with the Operations Teams
  • Pursue and close strategic relationships with large physician practices, hospitals, managed care organizations and accountable care organizations to include acquisition, joint venture relationships and other related partnerships.
  • Responsible for getting deals closed and meeting goals established for growth and staying within expense budget.
  • Provide leadership and directional support to the Leadership Team
  • Participate in leadership meetings with both Paladina and DaVita executive teams
  • Marketing and analysis of statistical reports addressing growth opportunities
  • Prepare executive-level presentations to share with leadership
  • Lead strategy sessions with the Leadership Team evaluating new business
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing clinicians to help best align what we sell and what we deliver
  • Maintain a liaison relationship with the legal department
  • Travel required: up to 50%

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" />

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred; MBA strongly preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years' progressive management experience required
    • Healthcare provider operating experience strongly preferred; primary care or similar provider services experience preferred
    • Strong relationships with managed care organizations preferred
    • Demonstrated track record of successful fiscal and operating management; demonstrated financial expertise
    • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing at strategic and operational levels
    • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel required; intermediate skills and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
    • Strong project management skills
    • Excellent communication skills including ability to persuasively deliver presentations to senior executives
    • Ability to build strong relationships across cross-functional teams
    • Ability to maximize resources to accomplish key metrics
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, and teammates to create a results-driven, team oriented environment
    • Demonstrated ability to function as a strong member of a highly motivated and integrated management team
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
