Here's what you can expect as a Corporate Compliance Director at DaVita:

This position is responsible for overseeing the Company’s successful execution of certain aspects of the Compliance Program, including those required by DaVita’s Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) requirements.  Particular areas of focus are likely to include running a team that handles company-wide employee and physician training, compliance policies, exclusion screening, CIA certifications, audit processes, and compliance investigations.  Areas of expertise should include the ability to lead a team, to effectively communicate across varius departments internally and externally, ability to new processes and manage competing priorities related to healthcare compliance.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Reports to Sr. Compliance Director and serves as member of the Corporate Compliance Leadership Team;
  • Serves as member of the VillageHealth Leadership Team and leads quarterly compliance update with VillageHealth Group Vice President and legal counsel;

  • Partners and collaborates with VillageHealth leadership and legal counsel to develop compliance infrastructure and guidance on all new and current initiatives;

  • Acts as Compliance Officer of the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Seamless Care Organizations (ESCOs);

  • Manages team to create, implement and oversee a robust compliance program including:

  • Conducting annual risk assessment;

  • Developing policies and procedures;

  • Developing effective lines of communications and promote strong, compliant “Tone From the Top”;

  • Creating and conducting compliance training;

  • Creating and implement compliance monitoring;

  • Partnering with compliance audit team to develop VillageHealth annual audit plan; and

  • Responding promptly to monitoring and audit results and undertakes corrective action, as needed.

  • Responds to, or oversees responses to, compliance-related inquiries;

  • Represents compliance at various VillageHealth leadership meetings;

  • Partners with other directors in Corporate Compliance to manage larger compliance team (100+ employees);

  • Develops and manages project plans for all VillageHealth compliance program activities;

  • Manages performance and talent planning for direct reports; and

  • Travel required: Minimal

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD/MBA/CPA/CIA or other relevant advanced degree or certification required;

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a legal or compliance professional responsible for the development, implementation and/or sustaining of an effective compliance program;

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industries dealing with federal healthcare program laws including, but not limited to Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act and Civil Monetary Penalty Law;

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with detailed Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and guidance including, but not limited to Medicare Managed Care Manual;

  • Preferred experience working with Medicare Advantage Plans or Accountable Care Organizations and associated contractual arrangements;

  • Preferred experience dealing with Medicare billing and coding requirements, and coding monitoring and audit programs;

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated attention to detail;

  • A superior people manager, expert at selecting, managing, and maximizing direct reports and team;

  • Demonstrated executive level presentation experience;

  • Experience in positively and successfully managing relationships with a high energy and diverse group of leaders across organizational lines;

  • Solid technology skills including Excel and PowerPoint;

  • A thoughtful, articulate and effective communicator who can distill and articulate the important aspects of any issue to a wide audience of participants;

  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and expert at quickly creating trusted advisor relationships with senior leadership to navigate complex matters;

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) and the ability to drive execution in a team environment;

  • Must be self-motivated, team player with proven ability to identify issues and manage priorities in a fast paced environment while striving for practical business solutions; and

  • Hands on, efficient and proven ability to “Get Stuff Done” with a bias for action and a strong sense of ownership.
