Teammate Relations Advisor

Position Description

This People Services (PS) position is an integral member of the Teammate (Employee) Relations team for assigned segments of the business, acting as an advisor for teammates, managers, People Services Managers (PSMs) and others. This position is accountable for providing response and consultation regarding teammate relations, questions and concerns. This position reports to the PS Sr Teammate Relations Manager

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to, and if appropriate, escalate general teammate relations issues received from all levels of teammates
  • Maintain required documentation within case management system (i-Sight), including intake, investigative notes, supporting documents and final reports
  • Interpret and apply DaVita policies, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, coaching and clarification for teammate relations and policy questions; staying current on employment laws and policies
  • Provide guidance, assisting with development and delivery of appropriate feedback, including Performance Improvement Plans or other corrective/disciplinary actions
  • Provide consultation, support, guidance and coaching to managers and others to address teammate behavior and performance concerns
  • Resolve teammate relations issues, including: gathering and analyzing evidence, applying relevant laws, policies and past practices to reach appropriate outcomes
  • Escalate high risk and sensitive teammate relations issues, using judgment to determine when to escalate issues and cases
  • Work directly with Teammate Relations Managers as appropriate; providing research and support for complex and high level investigations; assist with responses to third-party EEOC, OFCCP, and other governmental charges and requests as well as threatened litigation
  • Partner with PSMs and the business on as-needed basis, keeping appropriate parties informed and involved
  • Coach and advise managers on how to resolve low risk employee disagreements, conflicts or misunderstandings, escalating to appropriate PS contact as needed

  • Ability to travel up to 10% (can be unpredictable/unplanned)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required; Human Resource Management or other related field preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of HR experience with employee relations responsibility
  • Certified Professional (PHR) or Senior Professional (SPHR) in Human Resources preferred
  • Large multi-site company experience preferred
  • Able to positively interact internally with all levels of teammates
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Well developed consultative and coaching skills
  • Able to work independently; receiving minimal guidance on daily issues, but exercise judgment to involve others as needed
