Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
DaVita is seeking a Manager of Investigations, responsible for conducting investigations on compliance related matters submitted through the Company’s Compliance Hotline or other reporting avenues.  Investigations include potential compliance policy of federal healthcare law-related matters, including Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), False Claims Act (FCA), and other laws and regulations related to healthcare compliance. The Manager of Investigations will coordinate with other DaVita departments, including legal and human resources, to handle all aspects of investigations, including gathering relevant documentation, conducting interviews, documenting investigations, and recommending corrective action as necessary.  The role also includes both written and oral investigations updates to multiple various stakeholders, including senior leadership.
 
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct compliance investigations across business areas.  Investigations process may include research, data analysis, process analysis, interviews, follow-up, and documentation.
  • Carefully analyze factual findings in order to determine proper case disposition and follow up.
  • Prioritize and manage a significant caseload in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain detailed case files and accurately summarize investigative findings and conclusions.
  • Regularly interact with colleagues in various departments across the organization to conduct investigations and implement corrective action where necessary.
  • Provide regular written and verbal updates to senior leadership.
  • Work cross-functionally with other DaVita compliance functions and departments to advance compliance across the organization.
  • Assist or lead special projects related to the investigative function, as necessary.
  • Travel required: up to 10%.

Qualifications

 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s/Law degree or clinical experience preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in healthcare compliance or a practicing lawyer leading or performing internal compliance investigations.
  • Knowledge of federal fraud and abuse laws preferred.
  • Successful track record with positions of increasing responsibility in a healthcare organization, a law firm, and/or a federal or state healthcare or enforcement agency.
  • Prior experience conducting investigations; healthcare investigations experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail are critical.
  • Demonstrated ability to present and communicate effectively with executive management, functional leaders, and field employees.
  • Prior experience working under a CIA/DPA or advising clients related to CIA/DPA requirements, desired but not required.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
