This position provides timely and accurate reporting of revenue, study related expenses and payables for DaVita Clinical Research (DCR).  The Senior Accountant is responsible for understanding the accounting details of his/her assigned business lane and will complete monthly journal entries for recording of revenue and accruals.  The Senior Accountant will be required to thoroughly understand the Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS), including setting up new study budgets, analyzing CTMS data at month end for revenue recognition and stipend/physician payments and working cooperatively with operations to resolve visit entry discrepancies.  Occasionally, the Senior Accountant may also be involved in special projects that require detailed reconciliation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • 25%  Payment Processing
  • 25%  Invoicing/Collections/Cash Posting
  • 20%  General accounting/Month-end close procedures
  • 10%  Issue resolution/Special Projects
  • 10%  Attend DaVita Clinical Research meeting and meetings with operations partners
  • 10%  Other duties as assigned

    Duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:
  • Revenue recognition for clinical trial visit activity and related fees
  • Processing of vendor payments, patient stipends and physician fees, as assigned
  • Includes gathering visit activity from tracking system, communicating with sites & AP, and entering check details into system
  • Invoicing and collections
  • Cash posting and monthly cash reconciliation
  • Management of financial aspects of investigator-driven studies
  • Includes preparation of invoices, monitoring for cash collections, coordinating with operations/special projects team for tracking status of the studies, and reconciliation at study completion
  • Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
  • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
  • Compose and mail letters or checks as necessary; perform any necessary electronic filing
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the phone and in email with teammates and vendors
  • Special projects and duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree is strongly preferred with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • 4 or more years of Accounting or Finance experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word Outlook is required
  • Advance computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel is required
  • Proficiency in Oracle, Hyperion Essbase and knowledge of Clinical Conductor CTMS is preferred but not required.
