Position Description

Information Technology Associate Security Risk Analyst

 

The Associate Security Risk Analyst will be responsible for performing Information Technology security assessments for a rapidly growing healthcare company including:  identification of threats and vulnerabilities; performing formal risk assessments; and recommending mitigating security controls, writing formal Risk Assessment reports.

The Risk Team is looking for someone who is self-directed with the ability to work independently as needed, and more importantly, someone who works well in a team environment.     

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 Perform  Information Security Risk Management activities which include:

  • Application Risk Assessments
  • Third-Party Reviews and Risk Assessment
  • HIPAA Compliance Assessments
  • Review SOC2, Type II reports
  • Vulnerability Identification using Manual Methods and Scanning Tools
  • Threat Assessment
  • Recommend improvements in processes and/or technology to remediate risk

Qualifications

EDUCATION

·Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience

·Security related certifications are a plus

  • SEC Plus, GISF, GSEC, Associate CISSP

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

· 3+ years of experience in Information Technology preferably with an emphasis in security

    • System or database administration is a plus

· Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Requires familiarity of security industry regulations/standards like:

o    HIPAA,  ITIL,  NIST SP800 series, ISO/IEC 27001

o    Basic understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)

· Project management skills are a plus

· Basic understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) a plus

· Knowledge of the following areas:

o    Security architecture

o    Mobile security

o    Data networking protocols, standards, and infrastructure components

o    Encryption techniques/tools and products

· Experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools is a plus
