Position Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Working with the IT Operations - Infrastructure Services team, the Systems Administrator – Windows role focuses on managing and administering systems in a Windows Server enterprise environment. The Systems Administrator will directly contribute to the implementation, support, administration and management of Windows and HPE based infrastructure throughout the enterprise.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall implementation and management of Windows based infrastructure. To include capacity, performance, availability, provisioning, and event management.
  • Work closely with various technology teams and provide technical expertise to guide them on integrating with Windows based products.
  • Engage with various technology teams as needed to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Hold technical and business related discussions with stakeholders from various parts of the business. Use information gathered to develop and maintain an environment that addresses needs of the business using infrastructure solutions.
  • Participate in IT projects and programs both independently, and with other infrastructure project teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Any Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2 to 4 Year’s Experience
  • High School Diploma

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS


Required

  • Enterprise scale experience in Windows Server environments
  • Knowledge of Windows based technologies (Failover Clustering, File and Storage Services, Distributed File System, Windows Deployment Services, Group Policy, Print Services, Certificate Services, Active Directory and Exchange)
  • Solid understanding of broader infrastructure components (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, LDAP, NTP)
  • Experience deploying and managing Windows patching solutions
  • Experience with enterprise scale system migrations and upgrades

Preferred

  • PowerShell skills for automation and reporting
  • Solid understanding of various security solutions (encryption, certificates, PKI, IPSec, TLS)
  • Experience with VMware virtualized server environments.
  • Experience with HP ProLiant, BladeSystem and/or Apollo server platforms.
  • Experience with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
  • MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) certification

TRAVEL AND TIME REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel: 5%
  • Nights/Weekends: 5%

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Level III – Moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers or printers, light traffic). No required tasks involve greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues than would be encountered by a visitor. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids or other hazardous conditions.

Vision adequate to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of position.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Physical requirements can vary. These must be reviewed with management. However, in general, the position requires the following activities:

Ability to lift minimum of 5 lbs to a max of 50 lbs unassisted and able to stand, sit, stoop, walk, stretch, reach, and use full range of body motions.

Manual dexterity as required for specific equipment and ability to use computer keyboard and peripherals.
