Position Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
 
This position leads and/or supports the execution of and compliance with strategic initiatives, process re-design, root cause analysis, policy and procedure development, and special projects. This position defines and executes project plans including project initiation, planning, execution, controlling and closing out projects, and ensures compliance with process and procedures implemented.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
 
Project Management
  • Lead and/or actively participate in special projects as assigned
  • Streamline problems and provide recommendations for improvement and efficiency in processes
  • Meet deadlines established
  • Provide project updates to management regarding the status of activities and initiatives
  • Prepare and implement action plans
  • Lead CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) projects and process design or reengineering or other committees as assigned
  • Identify system and process improvement opportunities and recommend process improvement plans
  •  Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for learning within the team
Analytics/Reporting
  • Perform root cause analysis of process delays or breakdowns
  • Develop detailed reports to document implementation of changes departmental performance, improvement, and strategic business objectives
  • Ensure reporting continuity, integrity, and communication
Compliance
  • Monitor regulatory compliance and report findings related to CMS and other regulatory polices and procedures as well as state and federal regulations  
  • Act as a resource to other teammates regarding compliance issues 
  •  Interface with the Legal department and Compliance teams regarding changes in and interpretation of regulatory requirements 
  •  Define policies, procedures, training, and documentation requirements to support process or policy changes
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:
  • Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
  • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
  • Support other department functions as needed
  • Travel required: up to 5%

Qualifications

 
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Economics, Finance, Statistics, MIS, Legal Studies, or Health Administration required
  • Master’s degree in related area preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in project management, consulting, or compliance required
  • Experience in compliance, legal, credentialing or certification in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Experience in process improvement methods such as Lean Six Sigma or PDCA preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
