Position Description

DaVita is currently recruiting for a Sr. Director of Engagement and Implementation – a newly created position based in Denver, CO. DaVita is looking for a leader for a team dedicated to implement major change projects using process improvement and change management methodologies.


General Position Description

  • This position plays a key role in deploying these best new processes and experiences and ultimately for driving best practices across DaVita clinics. The successful candidate for this role will have a driven attitude, be motivated by making a direct impact on the projects they are part of and will flourish in a highly dynamic team environment.
  • The candidate should possess strong project management, creative problem solving, strong business acumen and change management skills. This role entails managing cross functional deployment partners, collaborating with Pioneer, Clinical Enterprise, and IT leadership, and fine-tuning the way new processes roll out to the entire 2,400-clinic Village.
  • Additional traits needed to succeed include: analytical horsepower, clear and efficient communication, ability to work with cross-functional teams, persistence and executive influence, and solid organization.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectation of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

·         Centralized Deployment

o    Experiment and develop best practices in "deployment", that is, the packaging, communication, teaching, and monitoring necessary to share our best practices throughout the Village

    • Deliver new initiatives and technologies consistently in a highly-organized and high impact approach
    • Establishes multi-year, high level objectives/imperatives in line with overall company strategy + in-year goals as it relates to building capability to roll out changes effectively & efficiently
    • Ownership of key work streams, serving as a project/change management office for 5-8 deploying projects, managing a cross functional team of individuals to design, build and implement dynamic deployment plans

o    Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and a willingness to lead initiatives through implementation

·         Stakeholder Management

o    Oversees a thorough and inclusive planning process while working directly across all functional areas of DaVita, including the senior leadership team.

o    Organizes a management process and tools that drive execution of key goals and imperatives

o    Prepares executive-level presentations to share with leadership including senior corporate and field leaders on a consistent basis. 

o    Efficiently work with a wide range of teammates, ranging from front line care takers to business executives.

o    Excellent communication skills including ability to persuasively and efficiently deliver recommendations to senior executives

o    Ability to build strong relationships across cross-functional teams; Proven ability to achieve buy-in from difficult stakeholders

·         Teammate Management 

o    Provide leadership to direct reports focused on developing and implementing world-class change management

o    Help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered during projects

o    Hire, manage and develop staff to excel in their assigned roles in a team environment

o    Facilitate teammate development (PDRs, coaching, mentoring, DaVita training, outside training); collaborate with direct reports to create professional development goals)

o    Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to teammates all DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company and foster a positive work environment

  • Travel required: Up to 30-40%

  • Successful candidate should be:
    • Effective at building professional relationships on a short time line, engaging all levels of leadership.
    • Sophisticated with established skills in large project change management, from when a solution is developed through successful deployment
    • Highly organized
    • Experienced with managing change across multiple lanes / departments
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field required, Master’s degree from a top-tier university highly preferred
    • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in healthcare or operational/business setting demonstrating strong analytical skills; related analytical and/or consulting experience preferred
    • Relevant experience in healthcare is a plus, but not required
    • Demonstrated competence in structural business process/workflow design analysis, project management, change management and performance improvement experience
    • Lean/Six Sigma black belt certification a plus
    • Minimum of two (2) years experience directly managing people
    • Proven ability to develop communication strategy that serves varied constituents
