Manager, IT Communications

Position Description

The Communications Manager will support the overall mission and Top 5 goals and objectives of the IT department. Manage the IT brand to both internal and external stakeholders; establishing communication channels for IT teammates, as well as clinical and business partners. The Communications Manager is responsible for driving strategic IT communication initiatives.  This role requires a strong background and experience in stakeholder communications and overall communications best practices. Candidate must be comfortable working with executives and teammates at all levels across the organization. Experience working in an IT required, as well as change management and ITIL/IT operating practice.  Experience working in a health care environment strongly preferred.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

  • Develops content and implements internal IT communications, including but not limited to, email communications, conference calls, announcements, scripts, PowerPoint presentations, templates, newsletters, and intranet content
  • Creates and supports development of marketing materials including but not limited to marketing collateral, brochures, newsletters, intranet content, email communications, and communication plans/campaigns to promote the DaVita IT brand across the Village
  • Event management planning and execution for large meetings (Villagewide, IT Leadership Meeting, etc.)
  • Team and team management support
  • Develop and execute IT communications and PR strategy that aligns and supports the IT and business strategies
  • Develop communication guidelines for the IT organization to include channels, tools, templates and processes
  • Write, edit and coordinate production of a variety of print and electronic communications materials to promote and support IT communications/teammate readiness activities.  Ensure final placement of materials, including distribution, and provide miscellaneous follow up.
  • Serve as editor in chief for IT related comms that interface with the business.  Collect feedback on user preferences for comms tools and channels (e.g. surveys, wikis, newsletter, podcasts, VoV) and implement based on preferences
  • Create/implement/oversee comms programs that effectively describe and promote the department, its products and deliverables.  Provide continuous feedback to IT leadership.
  • Work with corporate marketing, PR and comms teams to ensure compliance with enterprise wide standards.
  • Facilitate a collaborative process with the leadership team to ensure content for department calls and meetings (quarterly meetings, IT Town Halls, leadership calls, etc) has consistent messaging and branded look and feel.
  • Measure communications effectiveness in terms of teammate knowledge and understanding as well as overall satisfaction with the communications (content/vehicle) received

  • Bachelors Degree as well as 5+ years of communications experience.

  • Proficient in SharePoint or other intranet software.
