At DaVita, we want our teammates to be happy, healthy and productive while balance their lives as well as managing their health and wealth.
In a community, citizens share each other's triumphs and struggles. Whether by training teammates for leadership, offering ways for new DaVita parents to spend more time with their little ones, helping teammates make healthy choices, funding scholarships for teammates' children and grandchildren or being a safety net in times of crisis, DaVita invests in creating a culture of happiness, health awareness and ultimately in improving lives.

"During the past four years, I have had a majority of traveling jobs. I really thought I was okay with my weight until the village vitality points survey came. My doctor had done most of the form prior to our team meeting in June 2013. However, he hadn’t done my waist measurement. When the village vitality screener filled out my waist measurement I was shocked! Then, I saw the pictures of me at the meeting and realized I had to do something. My weight was out of control! Thanks to DaVita coaching and support, I have become more aware of my eating and exercise habits. I have lost weight and am in the best health of my life. I have joined a running group, and in 2014, I have done 5 half marathons and the full NYC marathon in November 2014." – Starr, Technical Trainer
"I embarked on an epic vacation adventure thanks to the DaVita Paradise Award. When I first heard the news that I had won this wonderful award, I immediately started a short list of all the places that I may like to visit. I figured I may as well pick a location, that if not for the award, I would possibly never see. Since I find myself glued to the TV for a solid two weeks every other year, the London Olympics made the short list. This has always been a bucket list item for me. It was very short notice, but after numerous phone calls, we were booked on a flight to Brussels and had Olympic tickets lined up. The first four days of our trip were spent touring Brussels, Amsterdam, and Bruges, all of which were absolutely beautiful cities. From there, it was off to London via high speed train. On the last Saturday of the games, we had tickets for men’s field hockey in the morning, and the track and field events in the evening. The stadium was electric that evening as Usain Bolt and company broke the world record in the 4x100 relay, and Mo Farah of Great Britain, won the 5000M. I still get goose bumps just thinking about it. We finished up our journey on Sunday by traveling an hour and a half outside of London to see the men’s mountain biking finals. As a mountain biker myself, it was amazing to watch the best of the best battle it out on a rather technical course. I cannot thank DaVita enough for this fantastic opportunity!" - Elizabeth , Dietitian
"Back in June 2013 at a leadership meeting, I received the very exciting news that my 2 sons, Ian & Caleb, had been honored with the K.T. Family Foundation Scholarships! We were actually on vacation when my Divisional Vice President called to share the news. The boys were in the car and got to hear the announcement. It was a very cool, very emotional way for us to hear the news together!! I am so very proud of those 2 sons of mine as well as extremely grateful and humbled by DaVita for honoring them! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU does not begin to even describe my gratitude not only for the financial assistance, but more importantly for DaVita’s support in helping my husband and I instill in our boys the importance of doing well and serving others. It’s certainly not why we do it, but it’s nice for them to know their deeds are recognized and often rewarded." – Cheryl, Social Worker
