At DaVita, we want our teammates to be happy, healthy and productive while balance their lives as well as managing their health and wealth.
In a community, citizens share each other's triumphs and struggles. Whether by training teammates for leadership, offering ways for new DaVita parents to spend more time with their little ones, helping teammates make healthy choices, funding scholarships for teammates' children and grandchildren or being a safety net in times of crisis, DaVita invests in creating a culture of happiness, health awareness and ultimately in improving lives.

"In October 2011, I participated in a vitality screening available at our neighborhood office, a choice that I would soon come to find had saved my life. This particular day the nurses had trouble getting my blood work to register so they referred me to my primary care physician. My PCP found abnormalities in the results and referred me to a hematologist/oncologist. I underwent a bone marrow biopsy and a week later I received the diagnosis: I have a rare, serious, chronic condition that falls into the classification of a blood and bone marrow cancer. The Village and its programs, vitality screenings, Match the Mayor and Tour DaVita have not only saved my life, but at the same time fulfilled my life and empowered me to persevere against any challenge." - Cathy, Director of Center Development
"I embarked on an epic vacation adventure thanks to the DaVita Paradise Award. When I first heard the news that I had won this wonderful award, I immediately started a short list of all the places that I may like to visit. I figured I may as well pick a location, that if not for the award, I would possibly never see. Since I find myself glued to the TV for a solid two weeks every other year, the London Olympics made the short list. This has always been a bucket list item for me. It was very short notice, but after numerous phone calls, we were booked on a flight to Brussels and had Olympic tickets lined up. The first four days of our trip were spent touring Brussels, Amsterdam, and Bruges, all of which were absolutely beautiful cities. From there, it was off to London via high speed train. On the last Saturday of the games, we had tickets for men’s field hockey in the morning, and the track and field events in the evening. The stadium was electric that evening as Usain Bolt and company broke the world record in the 4x100 relay, and Mo Farah of Great Britain, won the 5000M. I still get goose bumps just thinking about it. We finished up our journey on Sunday by traveling an hour and a half outside of London to see the men’s mountain biking finals. As a mountain biker myself, it was amazing to watch the best of the best battle it out on a rather technical course. I cannot thank DaVita enough for this fantastic opportunity!" - Elizabeth , Dietitian
"We have 5 children, and it’s starting to dawn on us how much their education is going to cost. My son Jake and I decided that he would apply for a DaVita scholarship. He is a great student and would like to be a surgeon one day. He won a scholarship this past year, and we are so grateful! This will give him a great start in a few years." - Susan, FA
